What is Figs And Olivs about?

‏اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم everyone! Peace be upon you! I hope you’re having the most amazing day.

Thank you so much for visiting figsandolivs.com. I hope you find some useful information that can help you both spiritually and in your day-to-day.

How I Started:

When I first started this blog five years ago, my passion was all things productivity, self-love and personal development because these were things I was personally invested in. I was excited to share new things I learnt that helped me in my daily life.

As time passed, I realised I had another passion. A greater passion than the rest. It was to spread awareness about the beauty of Islam, and more importantly, how Islam is the greatest tool we have to not only better our spiritual selves but our worldly selves.

I realised all these concepts I was interested in – personal development, productivity, self-love/ self care are a part of what it is to be a good Muslim. Without Islam, one cannot improve. With it, and with constant dependence upon Allah SWT, a person can be unstoppable.

This is why I write about Islamic topics as well as personal development topics. I want to show you that practicing Islam not only betters you spiritually, but it improves your worldly productivity too.

In essence, Islam is the key to all forms of success.

What this blog is about:

This blog is separated into two parts – Deen and Dunya. Here’s what each section will cover:

  • Deen – Bettering yourself as a Muslim. I will leave all the deep analyses of Islamic topics to the scholars as I am not one at all! These posts will focus on how to use key Islamic teachings to help you become a better Muslim and use your time wisely.
  • Dunya – Personal development topics in the worldly sense. This includes productivity, dealing with confidence issues, self-love/ self-care, mental health and more.

Let’s grow together!

I’m a normal person like you. I am not extremely learned in Islam, and I don’t want to be asserting my thoughts on Islamic passages, etc., because I’m not knowledgeable enough.

Despite being a Muslim all my life, my knowledge of Islam was very, very limited. My journey with Islamic studies in the past few years started from a very, very basic understanding. As much as you will (hopefully!) be learning from these posts, I am learning too! All the research I do helps me to increase my knowledge too.

For all my posts on Islamic-related topics, I always provide sources/ links to the resources I used whilst researching for the blog post. So, if there is anything you would like to look further into, just scroll to the bottom, and you will find the links there!

If there is anything that seems amiss to you, please contact me and let me know! (contact details below)

I’m happy to take back feedback that can make me a better Muslim too! 😊

Final thoughts

When you take the tips from both the Deen and Dunya sections and implement them in your life, you will learn how to enjoy this world whilst earning all the points you need for the Hereafter!

Everyone is on their own journey. Everyone is learning at their own pace, and this is a space where we can all grow together.

So let’s be there for each other and work together for the ultimate reward and destination we all want to be in – Jannatul Firdaws!

I believe in you! Let’s do this!! 💪🏼🌟
